About Me

I come from the smallest and most densely populated country in Central America (hint). I did my undergraduate and graduate studies in Toulouse, France. After many trials and tribble-ations, I obtained my Ph.D degree from Nagoya University, under the supervision of Prof. Kazuo Shiokawa.
Since then, I've spent a very sunny year as a visiting scholar at the ATMOS department of UCLA working with Jacob Bortnik's group. Then followed 2 years in the 'cold' city of Sendai as a JSPS post-doctoral fellow with my host Prof. Yuto Katoh at STPP laboratory (Tohoku University).

After becoming a YLC Designated Assistant Professor, I leveled up to Associate Professor at ISEE in Sept. 2020. I am affiliated to the Ground Network Observation Group and the Center for International Collaborative Research

My research project is mainly on VLF/ELF emissions, their physical properties, generation and propagation. I mainly work with ground and satellite simultaneous and conjugated VLF events, but I am also interested in ionospheric physics. I'm an active member of VERSIM and co-founder of their Journal Club.

I love science, sports, reading and travelling. I also spend my free time watching science fiction and classic movies, keeping up with astronomy and photography. Always enjoying a cup of hot tea on a rainy day (or any day!). Proud member of the STEL's futsal team.
